Current 4th, 5th and 6th grade students are eligible to sign up for either the beginning “Smash the Trash” or intermediate “Smash the Trash” trash can band camps (flyer explains) where students will learn and review basic trash can band drumming techniques. It will last 2 weeks and coincide with the band summer camp at Sossaman.

$135 per student

If a family has multiple kids in trash can band groups, 10% for each additional kid

Beginning Smash the Trash: 10:20 - 11:30 AM

Continuing Smash the Trash: 9:00 AM - 10:10 AM

Please bring a pair of drumsticks and a practice pad

Which one do I sign up for?

-if currently in 4th, 5th or 6th grade, and no percussion experience-Beginner

-if currently in 5th or 6th grade, and have played either percussion in band, or played in your school’s trash can band-Intermediate

*Any exceptions to placement must be cleared with Mr. Brewer*

*Please include your email, school and any drum/band/orchestra/piano experience your child has had in your registration*

What do I need?

Practice Pad (usually $10-20 each, Evans RealFeel is a good quality drum pad), and a pair of Vic Firth SD-1 drumsticks (tape will be provided to tape up sticks)

When do I need these items by?

June 3rd(first class session)
