Hi and welcome to Cortina Elementary’s 2025-2026 Color guard season! We are ecstatic to get this year started and we know your kids are too. Competitions are a blast, but they are also mandatory! We practice for weeks in preparation for these performances, and it is vital to the show’s success that everyone be in attendance. Our show is written so that everyone has a part to play, and competing with a hole on the floor is no fun.

What is color guard?
Color guard is a fun and active performing arts activity that shares similarities with Dance, Cheer, and Rhythmic Gymnastics. Color guard consists of dancing, spinning flags, and learning a routine with the color guard team for performances. No prior experience is necessary to participate in the activity. We teach the kids everything they need to know!
Who can join?
The elementary color guard is for any students in 4th -6th grade!
What to wear for rehearsals?
Students must come to rehearsal in clothes that they can dance and stretch comfortably in.
This means no jeans. Students should still follow dress code even in workout attire. Members must wear shoes outside at all times. This includes performances and any outside rehearsals.
